GPSO’S RESPONSE TO THE CORONAVIRUS PANDEMIC
As you may be aware, GPSO has implemented multiple precautionary measures in response to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all clients and staff.
GPSO’s Griffith and Leeton Day Programs Centres will, for the time being, remain open and we will try our best to maintain normality and run our usual programs. The GPSO Fitness Centre will be closed from 12:00pm today.
We will be:
- enforcing social distancing measures including maximum room numbers
- enforcing additional hygiene and safety measures such as extra cleaning of public areas, hand washing/sanitising stations and training in an effort to maintain hygiene standards.
- NOT be attending any public venues including shopping centres, cinema, ten pin bowling, etc. This means Participants will need to bring lunches and drinks each day they attend GPSO. Alternatively, we have made arrangements whereby Participants can order lunches from Peaches, Subway and the Yoogali Café and staff will pick up, and the food is to be eaten at our Centre, a park, etc.
Any Participant who is feeling unwell MUST stay at home, and Participants with chronic health conditions and/or compromised immune systems MUST seriously consider whether to attend GPSO Centres. Such individuals are at a higher increased risk of developing a serious or even fatal illness if they are infected with COVID-19. Continued attendance at a GPSO facility is at own risk. We ask that family members or carers avoid visiting the centre unless necessary.
If you choose to stay at home GPSO can still provide in-home supports, depending on staff availability. Please communicate with us and provide as much notice as possible regarding any decisions you may make on cancellation of services so that we may maintain necessary staffing levels. If you have any questions, please call our offices on the numbers above.
