ABOUT THE ROLE:
We have an exciting opening for a motivated NDIS Support Coordinator to become part of the GPSO Support Coordination Team at our Griffith office.
We are looking for a proactive and organised individual who is knowledgeable about NDIS procedures and dedicated to making a meaningful impact!
The Support Coordinator will support Participants and their carers to understand, implement and maximise the funded supports in their NDIS plan. This role will ensure the effective coordination of NDIS funded supports and services. The Support Coordinator will also provide ongoing support and encouragement to assist Participants and their carers to resolve problems or issues that arise, amend services and prepare reports to ensure NDIS compliance.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Collaborate with NDIS participants, their families, and other relevant parties to effectively implement, monitor, and review NDIS plans.
- Assist in the execution of all aspects of the plan, including informal, mainstream, community, and funded supports.
- Facilitate connections for participants with both formal and informal resources to enhance their overall quality of life.
- Provide ethical and client-focused support to help participants achieve their objectives.
- Identify and coordinate with suitable service providers and supports for participants, including managing the setup of service agreements.
- Offer ongoing support and advice to participants and their support networks to ensure goals are met and services are delivered as outlined in the participant’s NDIS plan and budget.
- Prepare and submit various support coordination reports to the NDIA, such as implementation, progress, and end-of-plan reports.
Skills & Experience:
- Strong time management and organisational abilities, with a proven track record of prioritising tasks and meeting deadlines.
- Knowledge of the NDIS and its effects on individuals with disabilities.
- Capability to assess and address the specific needs of individuals.
- Proficient in communicating with a diverse range of people to build trust and establish effective relationships.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Proactive in helping participants manage their NDIS funds, ensuring early identification and resolution of issues.
- Skilled in report writing.
Essential requirements include:
- Demonstrated experience in administration
- Excellent attention to detail and quality of work
- Excellent computer skills and ability to use various computer applications and systems
- Compassionate and tactful approach and the ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality and discretion
- Creative, resourceful, and pragmatic with a positive ‘can do’ and solution-focused attitude.
- Excellent administration, organisational and multitasking ability.
- Confidence to work independently and collaboratively within the department
- Strong communication skills with great attention to detail.
- Hold a current Drivers’ Licence.
- Hold a Working With Children Check
- Hold a current NDIS Worker Clearance
- Meet the inherent requirements relevant to the position.

Desirable:
- Experience working in the Disability Sector and knowledge of the NDIS
